If you didn’t know…homemade broth with a tad too many red pepper flakes (oops) kicks a stuffy nose’s ass! I thought my nose might actually fall off yesterday, it was still there this morning. A little red and sore but it was there. I slept through breakfast club and it took me forever to get moving today. It’s a little better now..
I did fairly well at saving this weekend. This was half price weekend at Goodwill, I bought 2 100% cashmere sweaters (pre shrunk lol) and 1 100% wool sweater at $2.19 a piece. I also found a corduroy duster type jacket. It is demin and co. it’s purple and my daughter says it’s hideous, so I’m sure it’s a keeper. It’s in the washer right now, I will hang it in where I will look at it everyday until I decide what I am going to do with it.

there was a wine tasting and the sweetest retired lady carded me, I told her she was my favorite person of the week! The wine wasn’t the best I ever had but it was noonish and I didn’t feel that great, nah I wouldn’t have liked it if I was feeling 100% .
Couponing when you’re not feeling well isn’t a party either. I did ok at Giant Eagle, I spent $48.00 and saved $38.00. I did better at Sparkle I spent $8.83 and saved $11.36. I’m not an extreme couponer, I strive for spending what I save. I only buy what I will use, I won’t make that mistake again.
I had delicious dreams about smoking last night….when will these stop? The withdrawals from nicotine sucked foot long donkey dicks and I am not itchin’ to do that again any time soon. Yes, I still want one, every damn day! I will not smoke, I can do this….how many days has it been since October 2nd? Isn’t this supposed to get easier??!! Grrrr
In addition to making super spicy soup, I also made tomato basil risotto for dinner and lunch the rest of the week.
It’s hard to not buy produce from Mexico this time of year. Difficult but possible.
I had to pass on the big beautiful strawberries at Sam’s Club because they were from Mexico, the ones I bought weren’t as big but they were grown in the USA.
It won’t be long before things are growing here. Birds are chirping, flowers are starting to come up. Ground Hog day is the day I go in search of growth, next weekend I will have pictures of Spring to come. The birds are a good sign, they are noisy as heck!
Hey PT, I found this Spike for you on Pinterest yesterday, it made me laugh. I thought it would be the perfect way for you to start the week! I never looked at the Geek page before, my daughter wanted to look at it and this is what I found.
My kids now think I am a big nerd! There is a new show about the biggest nerd or something like that. I just happened to know that a Wookie speaks Shyriiwook, I don’t know why I know that but I do. It was the correct answer so now I’m a nerd, I know squat about Dungeons and Dragons, but even that did not redeem me. I guess there are worse things…..
I hope we all survive the week ahead!

Although couponing is not as easy in Canada as it is in the States. I’ve watched extreme couponing and saw people getting money for a ton of groceries! I couldn’t believe it. So much groceries and not only did they not pay, but they got money back! It doesn’t work like that here, although I wish it did.
Thank you! Yes extreme couponing is amazing and too much work for me. I don’t have the space to store all of that stuff either. I tried once and failed. It really is fun to save money though
