The Wall Challenge

As I promised here are the pictures of progress. I didn’t expect the nightmare underneath that I ended up with, so I did the best I could. I do not have a true before picture, but here is the end result.WP_20140522_002

This is what was originally on the wall, it was part of a plastic surround that I tried to save 10yrs ago with paint.WP_20140522_001

This is the ugly that was underneath….WP_20140518_002

This is a truly honest picture, the dead ants aren’t even all the way cleaned up, although I am pretty sure that I got all of the larvae. The girl moved faster than I have seen her move in years when she was pulling that off and the ants came flying out.

So then we built a wall….WP_20140518_004

I tricked the eye with the one inch tiles, I had no choice, it didn’t line up and I don’t have a tile cutter. I ran out last night after 50 tiles, it took 81 total.WP_20140521_003

I still have to grout…..which is the worst!!! The major part is done though. I still have some paint to touch up and pictures to hang…then it all comes down to the penny floor. I already don’t hate this room as much as I did before.

I have also been trying to get myself back into couponing. I was pretty good at it before, but now I don’t buy processed foods, well as much as possible. This was my trip to Giant Eagle at lunch on Wednesday.WP_20140521_002

I had a coupon for everything except my little box of pure processed sugar goodness…..Good and Plenty. I saved $11.43 and I spent $20.41. Everything is so expensive….and it’s shrinking. Are we not supposed to notice that the boxes are getting smaller and the prices are going up? Sometimes with couponing you get swept up into the moment and buy things that you don’t need….that is not me. I am still planning my Target trip, they have a $10.00 off of $50.00 food purchase this week…..how many coupons can I stack? I’m hoping to really do well with this one so stay tuned.

Tomorrow is Friday….finally!…..Zia

About dragonflyzia

I am just a woman finally accepting that I was never meant to be in the box. I don't fit into any stereotypes, please don't try and label me, that doesn't work either. I am embracing my uniqueness in ways that are new and challenging to me, so that I may continue to grow and never stop learning.
