Black Friday….My Way

Last night the kids were slightly tempted and tried to talk me into venturing out, it was my own fault….I bought the paper full of ads. I explained to the girl who was practically siting on my lap (she is bigger than me) that while $9.99 is a great price for How to Train Your Dragon 2 I was not fighting the traffic, waiting in line,or shopping on Thanksgiving. She doesn’t even like shopping….she just wants the movie.

We had to go to CVS today, I had things that I right clicked and sent to the photo shop, explanation a little later. The girl wanted to get the $.99 laundry detergent, she likes her stuff smelly and full of chemicals, and we had coupons for a few other things. I ended up saving $18.57 and spending $18.14 and we needed everything that we purchased.

We went out to my dear friend KW’s basement to do some shopping, she has a show tomorrow so all of her stuff  was out. I would much rather give her my money than some big business, plus I got the friend 15% discount. She even gift bagged them for me, how is that for beautifully made, meaningful gifts…..IMG_0429

When I was looking through her sample decks I came across one that had my name all over it, it wasn’t perfect so I was able to keep it. (card not deck)IMG_0426IMG_0422

How long have I been complaining about chasing my tail? See… was made for me. She also surprised me with a present, which is only fair since I did the same thing to her last year her as she pointed out to me today.IMG_0433IMG_0434

I can’t wait to wear that scarf! The concept of this book will definitely make you think twice about what you say….I can’t wait to read more! It was a nice surprise and we had a nice visit, she is such an inspiration. KW really played a big part in my spiritual discovery, sometimes it just takes somebody to say it’s okay to follow your intuition. She took me to my first labyrinth walk and that part of her has created a beautiful business. I have always been blessed when it comes to the right people crossing my path and becoming part of my life….except for men, which is probably why I keep them all out…’s safer that way.

The only other place we went today was Office Max, they had ink on sale for 50% off and 800ct paper for $3.99. $22.00 for ink….that’s a deal and I am printing on ink fumes so it was great timing to boot!IMG_0432

They also had 24pks of water for $2.49 if you purchased 2….one less thing I have to check the ads for. Water is water…..unless it comes from my faucet which is ick. It’s stinky sulfur but at least it’s soft and doesn’t leave those rust marks like some well water does, but it is not drinkable…..if you possess any taste buds at all.

I am thankful that I came across that article on NANOWRIMO, and it gave me the motivation to start something that I may have never started on my own. However…..there is no way that at this time in my life I could produce 50,000 words in 30days, while working 40 hours a week, being a mom, having furnace/heating oil drama, and making things for Christmas. BUT….. I have a really good start and I am having fun with it, I am pushing through my comfort zone and really writing.

The reason I went to CVS was to get my visuals for my board. I took a picture before I went too crazy with my poor penmanship and habit of writing up…. I see things in images….I always need a visual and I am hoping that this will keep me true to my words, so I don’t end up contradicting myself in later chapters.IMG_0435

As other characters come into the story and prove themselves they will be added to the board, or maybe lesser characters will have a notebook. I just need that visual to keep me inspired, something that I will see every day….visual motivation.

My favorite part of today is that all day long I was getting paid. I was paid to sleep in, to make pancakes and bacon for the kids, to visit with two different friends, and to go shopping. When looking for a new job the one thing that always seems to hold me back is getting paid for this day…I don’t know why but I have always gotten the biggest kick out of this extra day…. and I still have two more days off…..tiny chair dance…..Zia

I really enjoyed this post, Zia. How true about time. I keep telling my husband who is always in a rush, to SLOW DOWN, because by doing so, he will actually be able to accomplish more. I do get into cycles that I too chase my tail, and in fact, I was just thinking about that today. Yes I too have room for improvement in that area … slowing down. I’ve missed out on so much living and the Beauty around me by rushing and being too busy. I hope you have a great weekend! OH! I just noticed your tagging. My Christmas Gift to you I give to you today. When you go over 15 tags, including categories, on your posts, that post will not show in the reader. Keep your tags to a maximum of 15 (remember that includes categories). I now tag at 13-14 tags, and very rarely go to the maximum. A good friend passed that tip on to me, and now I pass it on to you. Take this Gift and keep it going, Zia. Keep your eye on tags and when YOU see someone going over 15, give them the Gift I gave to you today!!!! Merry Christmas! (((HUGS))) Amy
