Expect the Unexpected

If I had to describe the last two days in one word it would be weird….

Yesterday was one of the few perfect weather days that we have here in Ohio, which was a nice change from all of the rain. I sat outside at lunch and listened to one of the Deepek Chopra meditations after I finished my lunch. It amazes me that as perfect as the weather was, I was the only one who sat outside. We were experiencing technical difficulties with the machinery at work and had to reschedule a third of the patients. The once overbooked schedule was now a ghost town, it was completely calm and we left on time.

The girl had called me at work to tell me that they were rushing her grandmother to the hospital and the boy was taking up their grandfather. My immediate thought was “how is the boy going to find his way home from the North side?” The evil grandmother was experiencing shortness of breath….probably from verbally abusing her husband. They were thinking that she had a mini stroke and were keeping her overnight for observation. The kids didn’t say anything about it today…..was it a ploy for attention? I can’t say but I wouldn’t put it past her. The girl says they talk about getting a divorce all of the time and her response “At 70 and almost 70 they should just suck it up and deal with it!” Not my circus….not my monkeys.

The boy who has been cat sitting, stopped on his way back from the hospital….mostly to check out what we had for dinner. We had fried green tomatoes again and a big salad, which didn’t appeal to him in the least. He hugged me goodbye and then reached over to hug his sister who froze while thinking “what is happening?” Right before impact the boy stopped and said “whoa what am I doing, being at that hospital made me a little loopy.” Yep he almost hugged his sister and came to his senses at the last second. It was hysterical to watch. πŸ™‚

I left for work today prepared for the crazy schedule, I even warned the girl that I could be really late getting home. The big boss came into my manager’s office and said “try and move everybody up so you guys can get out of her early.” Wait….what…that actually happens? Yeppers I walked out the door at 3:41….woohoo! I love my new job. The girl and I did a little running around and now PT is done for Christmas….I wasn’t even looking for anything specific, the girl actually pointed it out.Β  Everything was unexpected…

I am about a third of the way through Go Set a Watchman, it is dragging. I am not judging yet, all I will say is that if this book grabbed me from the first page then I would be done by now. 98 pages and nothing has happened yet, there is a big overuse of the word honey and I really want to slap the aunt. I am hoping to give a better review tomorrow…..Zia
