I went to my waitress job expecting pretty much a repeat of last week…….boy was I wrong! There was a buy one get one free Chicken Francaise coupon in the paper, every table in the house was sat. Sections meant nothing, I had tables in my section and in another section all the way across the room. It was a really tough second day on the floor…whew. My feet really might fall off! I made $65.00 though…not bad for the out of shape old lady who ran her ass off for two and a half hours and then spent another two waiting on some stragglers and helping recover the back of the house. Did I mention that me feet might fall off? I told the kid to give me two days next week….I must be crazy!
Earlier today I took the girl to sign up for her first checking account. It’s time that she learned how to balance her money. I know that I am not the best with money but I have never (knock on wood) bounced a check…it’s an expensive mistake and I don’t want her to make it. Now when she gets birthday or Christmas money she can cash or deposit her own checks. When she gets a job she can sign right up for direct deposit, it’s not what she wants to do right now but in the long run it will be a good thing.
I stopped over PT’s this morning, there is no breakfast in the morning and she suggested I stop over today….best thing that I did all day. I was on a tight schedule but we had a nice chat before I left, it’s always nice to catch up. She is the best at bouncing ideas off of and always has great suggestions. We do need a plan of attack for our cork letters though. I had a thought today….K brought over wine from her house and left it at mine. It was old, it was refrigerated and no longer tastes like Merlot. I almost poured it down the drain and then I thought we could use it for our project, after we cut some of the corks in half we can use the Merlot to stain the ends. So then the project stays authentic, I am not wasting the wine, and I won’t be drinking it. Christmas is three months away, we need to get busy.
Tomorrow I have got to get some of these boxes filled, I have too many empty ones around and they are starting to make me claustrophobic. I turned down boxes from work this week and those Alcon boxes that hold surgery supplies are great boxes. There will more this week but still. When I went to Giant Eagle for the wine taste today I had a nice little buggy of boxes. Must fill boxes…first on my list tomorrow….if I can move…….Zia
