The Value of Time

Those of you who know me or read my words know how much I value my free time. When I agreed to go into work early on Saturday there were certain things that I had to give up.  I gave up my running around time with the girl, I gave up my Saturday specialty coffee, and I gave up my head start on weekend cleaning. I was lucky that I didn’t have to give up my Saturday wine taste, it was started fifteen minutes early….funny how that worked in my favor. It’s good to have friends in “wine” places.

I left wine taste and went right to work. I set up the tables, pulled out the chaffing pans, and was polishing the silverware when they got the call. The woman who booked the party realized that she booked it for the wrong day. I was there and didn’t need to be, I was not a happy camper.  The first party was scheduled for 2:30 and a woman from the 6:30 party showed up about then to decorate the room. It worked out in her favor that the other party didn’t show up.

The second party…the ones who showed up were very nice and to be honest, they were very easy to wait on. They also ended up tipping me an extra $50.00 which made up for the first party not showing up. Still….I was there until 10. I get that everything happens for a reason but my kid isn’t going to be, or want to be around for many more Saturdays. Maybe I am just being dramatic?  Time just goes so fast……Zia
