When I decided to make the driftwood tree for SB I had no idea how many trips to the craft store it would take. I purchased every bag of driftwood from my local JoAnn Fabrics, I think there were five. Today was the first day this week that I didn’t stop there. I did however, stop at Michael’s to buy the starfish that I liked. This is where I am at now…..
I thought they would be a subtle yet festive touch…..I hope after all of this that she likes it? The only thing I am not 100% sold on is the rope wrapped ribbon, and I didn’t put a ton of glue on it just in case I changed my mind.
Force of nature girl has three shutters for me. It’s a start and the girl who is taking the other two (she showed me the project) is going to get her husband to make the noses and hat brims. I think this is what my brothers and cousins are getting this year, provided that I find enough shutters. Since the Universe dropped three in my lap, I will take that as a good sign.
I am trying E6000 on the corks, I think they will hold in the end but there is a long drying time. I have corks all over my counter which is why I had to use the stove to take the picture.
SB’s birthday present, my sister in laws Fleetwood Mac book, and 2 out of the 3 kids books with stuffed animals. I am waiting on one stuffed blue awkward bird for the last book and then the tiny tots are done.
July is almost gone and I am hoping that when August comes I am slightly less obsessed. In the back of my mind I know it’s because child support ends for the girl next month. It doesn’t matter that she is still in high school, Ohio cuts you off at 19. I know I will be fine, but it makes me nervous. I know this is the root of this particular crazy……Zia
