A Flurry of Festivities

The last couple of days have been filled with exciting things and long hours. On the paying work front….we have worked an hour over every day this week. Monday was so bad that when I came home I couldn’t manage more than a nap, washing some dishes and watching Midnight Texas. It was one of the worst days ever at this job. I didn’t blog because who wants to read that? I sure didn’t want to write about it.

The best part about Monday is that I have a set in stone date to peddle my wares at my favorite coffee place. September 23rd from 10am-3pm they will let me set up my crafts free of charge and they will publicize the event. I am super excited about this! On Tuesday I received the email from the history center about their Christmas craft show this year. I sent in my check to reserve my spot the same day. Sunday December 3rd I will be there. The best part about these events…..I have a weeks vacation scheduled the week before each event. That was a happy accident and will be very helpful.

Today I was in the library filling my favorite library ladies in on the dates when the actual librarian asked me if I would volunteer my time to do some craft classes? I love my library and would donate my time in a heartbeat, but what class would I teach? I don’t want to give my secrets away, I want people to but my projects. There are a few book page ornaments I want to try so maybe I will start there? PT taught me how to make the paper flowers, maybe I could offer a class on these?

I wonder if they would let me do an essential oils 101 as well? Since I am not a huge fan of home parties at this time in my life that could work? I will have to ask. I have had a wonderful opportunity come to me every day this week….it’s very exciting!

Last night I played with a new project….book page garland. It’s not long enough for a mantle but it will look awesome set up on my table during future shows. It’s kind of like the “80’s mullet” of crafts…..all pretty business in the front and a party of staples in the back.

I still haven’t finished the mason jar tissues. The first batch is mostly done, they just need some twine and embellishments….

The second batch I was more careful with the paint because I knew where the jar lid ends. There is something about this color….it doesn’t match a thing in my house but is sure is pretty.

The first two batches are for Christmas presents. Sunday I am going to SB’s for sauce fest 2017 and whatever jars I have left I will use to make more of these for the shows. I will be saving the wide mouth jars for these if I can….another lesson learned.

I also want to try my hand at an aromatherapy rice bag. I found a pretty sheet at the Restore today, I’m not sure if it’s vintage or not but I can’t recall the last time I came across a ruffled sheet.

Oh…when I was gathering all of my canning jars and putting them in one spot (where they should have been in the first place) I came across the perfect frame for my sip and paint from last October. It was in the garage the whole time….

I was at two craft stores today and didn’t remember to grab canvas clips and hangers. I can’t believe I am out of hangers, I always have those on hand….well used to have I guess.

It’s been a crazy couple of days, work was bad but life was good. I have lots to look forward to and even more than that to do…….Zia
