I am still stuck in this weather funk pattern, even though the days are getting noticeably longer. Monday and Tuesday the couch won, last night I cooked dinner and had my little buddy over. Once we finished our dinner I cleaned up and started cooking mass amounts of honey sriracha chicken. My plan was to not have to cook today…..I am not cooking, that part is true. The boy has some friends over playing video games which is why I made his favorite food. I didn’t set out the paper plates last night and now I have lots of dishes.
All I really want to do is soak in the tub…aka fall asleep in a hot bath, wake up and take a hot shower. I can’t exactly do that when the boy has friends over. This is probably a good thing because I need to be busy cleaning. I have a friend coming in from out of town Saturday. Maybe these boys hanging out and keeping me from napping or bathing or both in my case will keep me motivated?
PT text me today…she is still sick. I am a horrible friend for not checking back in on her. I went after work and picked her prescription up and did a little bit of grocery shopping for her. A better friend would have gotten off of the couch and checked on her sick friend. Maybe then I could have brought her more homemade soup instead of soup in a can. She says she really likes Campbell’s soup and I’m sure she does…but it’s not homemade. I need to check my supplies to see if I have enough to make some Elderberry syrup. If I do I will bring her some Saturday morning.
This week on genealogy Monday I uploaded my DNA to My Heritage.com. I have only started to explore this sight but it seems to be more user friendly than Ancestry.com. The results were a little different. Maybe it’s because Ancestry lumps a lot together?
I’m still mostly Italian but Ancestry lumps the Greek and other miscellaneous in my 46%. 8.6%Greek…..explains my love for Greek Mythology and Feta cheese. I think it’s interesting how two sights show things differently. My brother didn’t get the 1% North African on his Ancestry so I am making him do this one too. Genetically…are there traits only carried by the female members of the family? I will get back to you….
The roughest part of this week is my 3:30am problem. Every night since Sunday I roll over at 3:30 am, look at my phone to check the time, and spend the next two and a half hours in some sort of sleep limbo. It’s killing me and it’s giving me dark circles…it’s bad. Once I kick the boy and his friends out at 10:30 tonight I am hoping for some uninterrupted sleep. The one night a week when the boy is at his fathers is my only chance at a solid nights sleep and I am praying for it tonight…..Zia
