What? Where? How?

How is the weekend almost over? That was way too fast for me…..How does that happen? Some days at work an hour feels like three? Not on the weekends….

The girl and I started our day with a trip to the vet clinic.  Z is all updated on her shots and this time I added a micro chip since she has gotten loose twice this year. This year I brought the girl to help and Z peed in the store. This has never happened in all of the years that I have been bringing her. Needless to say that they over charged me in the chaos of cleaning up the pee. I thought it was higher than normal, even with the microchip. They no longer give you a receipt in store….they email it. I say sneaky…sneaky.  Supposedly I have a $15.00 credit towards next year….we will see. I had to call and be insistent about it before they even offered that up. I didn’t charge me incorrectly…they did. I can’t say that they are trustworthy at the moment….only time will tell.

Today was a day that everything cost more. The girl and I drove to an Apple Store which was out of my comfort zone but I drove the hour plus because I was led to believe that Apple would replace old batteries for $30.00….wrong! That is only for the Iphone 6 and up. It was very disheartening and I stuck to my guns about paying a ridiculous price for a device. I was willing to pay $220.00 for a Moto phone so paying $315.00 for an Iphone SE wasn’t horrible….it wasn’t great…but it wasn’t horrible. That 315 also included the trade in of my old Iphone 5C which brought in a whopping $30.00.  It’s such a racket but at least I have a phone that holds a charge and updates. The girl wants an Iphone 8 which means she is buying it herself and she knows that. There were a few things that caught her eye today and she made a comment or two so I know she is giving getting a job a thought. It’s always much better when they do it on their own and she only has so much time before I force her.

Even though our little road trip didn’t turn out the results we hoped for, we still found ways to have fun.

This mall was much more upscale that our local mall and it was fun to explore. The girl was excited to shop in an FYE store? I had never been in one but I guess our mall had one for a second or two. I stopped into a store or two but didn’t buy anything….the overpriced phone was enough for me.

Yesterday the girl and I had a local adventure, we went to a vegan restaurant. Again I feel the need to stress….I am not vegan, nor do I have any plans to be vegan. I am just cutting out the meat and cheese for a while. The girl had a chickenless cranberry chick’n salad wrap.

I had their vegi burger which is rated in the top ten in the country….

It was actually pretty good. The downside? I had to wash everything we were wearing. We smelled like vegan food…..I can’t even attempt to describe it any better…it’s one of those things that you have to experience for yourself.

I talked to my uncle a little today about this whole lactose intolerant thing. I was more curious about the cheeses that didn’t bother the belly as much. He broke it down like this….sheep, then goat, then buffalo (mozzarella) and then cow. The cheese I use with real butter (I am not giving up butter) when I am making a quick pasta is this one….sheep….thank goodness.

Mozzarella on pizza doesn’t bother me….yet. One of the cheeses that I use the most is feta and traditionally it’s not cow. I will have to read that label before I buy that next package.

When the girl and I stopped at Target yesterday I stopped in their feminine hygiene isle. I was just looking for something to hold me over until I figured out how to make a reusable product. Then I saw these AND they were reasonably priced…

My OB doctor doesn’t like that I wear these everyday. To be honest I only ever need them once every 30-45 days…the unexpected start of a period…or that one good sneeze when you aren’t prepared. I was very happy to find this option. I don’t shop a lot at Target but now I will….at least every 99 days or so.

It was a fairly eventful weekend and all I really wanted to do was watch The Matrix….it keeps coming up so I feel it’s something I need to watch. It was the real reason we went to Target yesterday…it was a steal at $5.00.

I still haven’t watched it…..possibly I will get there tomorrow…..Zia
