What was I thinking? Well….I was hoping I may have found a chemical free way to cover my grays? It’s too soon to tell on that one. I can say that because my head is still wrapped in saran wrap. The mess wasn’t huge but it could have been….
My Lush henna dye arrived Monday. This product requires time…..like four hours. So I had to wait until Wednesday to give it a try. Negative Nancy was nice enough to apply it for me. My hair is fine and quite thin so I will be able to get two uses out of this package.
The consistency of brownie batter was my goal and I think I achieved that, as you can see. It smells great but there were lots of crumbles involved. I’m not sure if it was because she was being thorough and it took so long or it that’s just what happens? I had lots of tiny crumbles on my face and neck which isn’t horrible.
I did the best I could with the little dust pan, it helped. Then I cleaned the rest of it with some OnGuard cleaner which worked like a charm. I hope it turns out okay and covers my grays. If I get rid of hair dye….I only have liquid foundation, mascara, and hairspray left until I am product chemical free. This is the first year that I have not painted my toes and you would not believe the judgement I received over that choice? Where is it written that a girl has to have her toes painted? Although…oddly…it’s the only girly thing the girl does….her toes are painted all year long.
He is such a pretty boy…He has had a rough week though. Once when the girl opened the front door he leapt for his stool…..which wasn’t there yet and crashed into the door. Then there was the time he leapt for the arm of the couch and missed and fell like Mufasa from the Lion King. It was hysterical….you would have thought it was Pride Rock the way he ran out of the room all embarrassed. It’s always worse when someone sees a fall. There’s a rabbit or two outside that he chases from window to window and I think he was just excited. He hasn’t had any misses the last two days.
I may have gotten a little carried away on the library’s website last night. I didn’t have a specific book on my list so I grabbed a random one last week. Oops…I forgot about the “on CD” part. The narrator was great but it didn’t hold my interest after one CD so I returned it. Hopefully everything I requested comes spaced out. I usually have two books going, one in the house and one in the car. I am lost if I don’t have a book to listen to…so I have a few coming. Circe by Madeline Miller, The Great Alone by Kristen Hannah, Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, and The Pearl Thief by Elizabeth Wein. There’s also a young adult book by Cassandra Clare Lady Midnight and a downsizing inspiration one on the way. Can you see why I hope they are spaced out? I might have went a little overboard… It is frustrating though. I will make the extra effort to be more prepared versus picking something random off the shelf.
It’s been a heck of a day over here and I still have an hour and a half before I can wash my henna away. With no book to listen to? I think this calls for a Bon Jovi Crush cleaning sing a long……Zia
