Readjusting the Schedules

Lots of things are changing right now. My priorities….the kids starting school…the seasons… It’s a lot sometimes. Yesterday was the first day of school for the girl. Wednesday’s will be rough, it’s her longest day and she has a night class. One of our patients who works for the sheriff’s office was in today and I asked him some questions about the campus at night. He assured me that things were better now but still gave me the direct line to dispatch for the city as well as the university. He also gave me info on the best pepper spray loaded with dye.  I’ll be down there with her for the most part. She has a four hour break and my plan is to take her back down, walk for an hour, and write for two. My favorite coffee house closes at 6:30 but my second favorite closes at 9 or 10 and they serve food. I took a creative writing course there one summer and they have lots of room. Two hours a week…dedicated to writing? Who knows what I can accomplish? Only time will tell.

Today was the first day of school for the boy but I don’t know how that went as of yet. He is hanging out with his dad today. I will get the scoop later tonight.

I came home to a nice surprise today. I don’t normally order from China on eBay but for some reason my default settings were off when I bid on this big boy. I haven’t had much luck receiving items in a timely fashion…sometimes not at all. This came super quick and it’s a talker! It will be center stage when I build a new crystal grid on Sunday.

It has all of the colors in my default wardrobe….purple, black, gray, copper, and silver.  It’s a heavy piece of Merlinite too….no discretely carrying this around in my pocket.  This stone popped up in one of my social media feeds and is supposed to “help us see ourselves objectively and promote growth”. I am all about growth…let’s get this done. I don’t want to come back…at least for a long time. I am taking to long to figure things out this go around and it’s super frustrating.

On a less dramatic note I finished one of SB’s birthday presents last night. I had a lot of help with this one so it will be a one of a kind on my maker resume.

There is no hole in this edition of Gone With the Wind from 1964. I needed to add an old classic to the stack and it seems to work.  I thought about gluing them together but I decided against it. It gives her the option to move the books how she wants. I stalked out her Pinterest Pins because I didn’t know what else to make her other than a diffuser bracelet. We are meeting up again on Saturday,  fingers crossed we get another eagle sighting…

Today I also verified the start date of the Italian class I mentioned a couple months ago.  Between the girl and the university and my Thursday Italian classes…I will be spending an awful lot of time downtown. Change is good, change of scenery is better….meeting new people? New blood…new inspiration. That sounded almost vampirish? I assure you that I am not…unless you are a perfectly cooked piece of medium filet. I haven’t had a really good piece of steak in quite some time…it sounds really good right now. Meatballs, steak, and bacon the three reasons why I can’t be a vegetarian.

I have been working on some Christmas presents as well. I’m glad the little flood didn’t damage the paint I had on the mason jars that I sealed last night. Tonight is ribbon and hot glue and possibly main construction? Embellishments won’t be until this weekend. If I can get these done now, it will free up a lot of time later….Zia
