Druid Lantern….Check

Today was my Outlander make and take party and my first official gathering at the new house. I did have the Lemongrass Spa party but it’s not the same. It almost felt like home today….almost. I still feel “temporary” here, which is strange because I have lived in apartments before and they never felt temporary. So I think this is a me thing not a house thing.

We had fun making the lanterns and listening/watching the first season disc one. I confess that after everyone left…I re-watched the first episode. I would have kept going but the girl nipped that in the bud. She had reached her limit. She was a good little photographer for us when we were done. Here is my lantern…

The last picture even has Jamie and Claire in the background on the tv. (insert hearts) I think these are the snazziest two liter pop bottles that I have ever seen. Cutting the bottoms off was the most dangerous part of this project. Thankfully nobody injured themselves in the process.

It was fun and the snacks were tasty. It was a good “get back into practice” run for my Outlander premier party in two weeks. I cannot wait!! I know I will be making bannocks because they are always a big hit but I don’t know what else? I guess I’ll be breaking out the Outlander cookbook. I’m happy to hear she is working on another one…we need new recipes.

Now that I have my lantern, I will need to hit the thrift stores hard this week to finish off my costume. I also need to make a flowered head piece…one thing at a time. The girl needs the computer so I am off to finish the little bit of clean up that I have left. Little does she know that when she steps away from the television I will be putting Outlander back on….Zia

PS in case you forgot what my druid costume goal was….here’s a little reminder…
