Cat-astrophe

That’s how my day started….first it was the wind at 5:30am on a sleep in day and then it was the cat at 6:00am jumping from the top of my bookshelf onto my crystal grid…ugh! Needless to say…I crawled out of bed at 6:30am.

My already broken and hanging on by a piece of tape original book page tree came tumbling off the book shelf with the cat and hit my crystal grid on the way down. Which made my crystal grid a glittery mess! I guess I’ll be changing that up tonight…

I put my sad little tree back on the book shelf until I figure out a better way to fix it.

I went to PT’s this morning and hung out for a little bit. While I was there she secured our rooms for our trip to Salem this Summer. I left her house and ran to Lowe’s for knobs and Aldi’s because it was quick to grab the Girl some unsalted butter.

While I was in Aldi’s which was a total of five minutes or less, a funny thing started happening with my vision. It was only my right eye and it was like ….you know on a really hot day when you look at the pavement and you can see waves of heat? It was like that only bright white and blue. I know now it was an ocular migraine and I have had those before but it was different back then. It freaked me out and I called one of the od’s on the way home. My drive home was weird…it felt like I had a sunroof because of the peripheral lights. It did stop by the time I got home and the first thing I did was make some coffee. I still have a headache but it’s not awful. I haven’t had an ocular migraine since right after the Cockroach eviction when I had more than one. Hopefully I won’t have anymore.

I came home and this is what I found…

The Girl was making melon bread and she was learning from a dog? Crazy I know…whatever it takes to get her in the kitchen. This is her final result…

I thought they looked great and they smelled amazing…too bad I couldn’t try them.

While she was making a mess I started painting the small dresser my aunt and uncle brought over yesterday.

Their neighbor is moving and was giving it away. It fit perfectly in the space…I just needed top clean it up a bit. I had the paint and the drawer pulls I bought from Lowe’s were only $10.81…I didn’t think that was so bad.

You can’t even tell that my picture is an off-white? I had the first coat on when the cat decided to jump on it. I yelled for the Girl to grab him but he was gone….through the kitchen…hall…living room, and finally my bed. The only clean up was the kitchen and the hall but what a mess! The kicker….now he is mad at me for yelling at him??? What a brat!!

Whatever! I am so happy to get rid of the cluster of towels on the top of the microwave…I don’t even care!

Yesterday I met two of the ladies from Italian class at the library….a little study group. One of the ladies is going to Italy in May so I thought now was the perfect time. We spent more time getting to know each other than we actually did studying but at least we finished our homework. We are doing it again next week!

I also went through the last of the naturalist program and finished up all upcoming homework last night. Now I can focus on my final presentation. It doesn’t end until May but hopefully now I am ahead of the game. I haven’t even decided where I want to volunteer yet?  My main focus is on my final project right now and I even worked on it a bit today.

It’s the last day of March and while the grass is starting to turn a slight green…it’s 30 degrees and snowing…How do people live here year after year and not be bothered by the cloudy dreariness?  I am not made of the same cloth and am struggling without the sun…..Zia

PS here is that video…just in case you ever wanted to learn to cook from a dog…
