The Girl and I went to see Pet Sematary this morning…what a HUGE disappointment! It wasn’t even the slightest bit creepy. This book terrified me in high school…especially Pascow, and while the original movie wasn’t stellar…it was still effective. There were two things I liked about this version…the procession of children wearing the creepy masks and the addition of the Wendigo lore from the book. I was even open to the Ellie/Gage switch up….this is not a movie I would watch a second time. IT was such a phenomenal remake….I was hopeful that this one was as well.
This was the first movie I have gone to since I changed my diet…it was hard to sit next to the yummy smell of fake buttery grains but I survived. I love this theater with it’s reclining leather-ish seats and that helped.
I was supposed to meet two ladies from my Italian class at the library after the movie but one of them canceled….so that freed up some time. The Girl and I did a little yard work before we headed back out to the nest.
I was surprised that there weren’t more people out there especially since there are babies in the nest? I even ran into an old friend while we were there. I got another lucky shot so I am excited about that! I haven’t figured out how to zoom and edit on my camera while saving the image? I have had the camera for over a year and just figured out how to transfer from my camera to my phone using wifi yesterday. Give me time….I will get the hang of it! The Girl found a few rock specimens while we were there…I think she was a little bored. There was much more nest action yesterday…
I’m happy with how it came out. I have one more component to find for another project and then it’s down to the bird food recipes. Fingers crossed….I feel ahead of the game on this one. I am not looking forward to my twenty minute presentation but I am not afraid of it either. Hopefully they will be distracted by the whimsical upcycles and not paying that much attention to me.
I still have some food prep to do for the week tonight and while normally I am done at this time…I am grateful for the time spent in nature today…..Zia
