How Did You Procrastinate Today?

I have mentioned before that I am the queen of procrastination and when it comes to filing my taxes….it is no exception. I can’t even believe that I have five days left to get it done. The funny thing is….it will take me less than thirty minutes to complete…and I am getting a refund. This is all thanks to the emotional trauma caused by the 2014 Anthem hack.  Will I get it done tonight? Maybe? Probably not though…

I have a field trip with the volunteer naturalist program all day Saturday so that added to my “to do” list today. Almost every Wednesday I am at the library dropping off or picking up…today it was both. I stopped out at a local camera shop next.

My camera is only a point and shoot and for me…it’s exactly what I need. Visiting the eagles this past week has been extremely fulfilling for me. Sure with a more expensive and larger camera I could have captured a sharper shot….maybe someday I will? That’s not where I am right now. I am tickled pink by the shots I did get. I think they are pretty darn good for my first try at a moving object..way up in a nest. I had to see them in print, which was a good thing because I noticed things that I didn’t see on my camera.

I guess one of the eagles picked up a squirrel for dinner yesterday. I know this from the new Facebook page I am a member of as of Sunday. These men crack me up…they are so competitive with their pictures. I didn’t realize that nature photography was a sport? Seriously…I laughed out loud at them. The last post I read went something like this “this picture is a bit sharper than some that have been posted earlier..” Boys…there are enough pictures to go around and every picture of these eagles is amazing because they are coming back to this area!

I stopped out at the nest on my way home today which was around three and those babies were super active.  I haven’t even looked at my camera yet to check how the pictures came out yet. I am sure I captured at least one of them. Mostly I am there in an appreciation of nature and am in awe of the eagles. It never gets old for me…camera or not.

Before I stopped at the eagles nest I made the trek out to the farm where I buy my meat. I did man up and try the sausage. I was/am a little worried since I had a reaction from the sausage at my  little Italian grocery store. So good with this sausage. Hopefully it stays that way..

I also stopped at Michael’s today. I needed a good pencil that was fade resistant and smudge free and I think…fingers crossed…that I found one with the Prismacolor brand. You know me..always making things difficult….before I can even start writing I have to find a special instrument to write with. Procrastination at its finest.

I came home and cooked my breakfast and lunch for the next two days. Did some laundry..vacuumed…even worked in the basement. Whatever I could do that wasn’t facing the trauma of the hack. Today’s the 10th so eventually I am going to have to face that ugly memory and get those taxes done. But first….I have to go rinse the henna/indigo out of my hair…and do the dishes….so maybe tomorrow….Zia
