Seven Years is a Long Time

I am surprised every year when I get the WordPress anniversary badge notification and this year was no different.

I have written 1,438 posts in those seven years and those posts have had 25,045 views. WordPress graciously added up those totals for me but I was curious about the word count so I added those up myself. In seven years I have written 684,388 words in these posts. I know there are many people out there who accomplish these things monthly but I am not those people and this is a huge accomplishment for me.

I may have the seven year itch in a lot of ways but not when it comes to WordPress. If anything…it makes me want to try harder. When I first started here I spent a lot of time reading other blogs and making connections. I don’t do that as much anymore.  I try really hard to keep up with my connections at least once a week, sometimes I do and sometimes it’s longer than a week. I want to try to be more “in” my WordPress community and maybe even find some new blogs to follow. It is hard for me when the writing stops and I miss the blogger’s words. Sometimes I remember a post and wonder “what are they up to? How are the kids doing? How big is that baby now? What new projects are you sewing? How is the homestead?” I guess a connection is still a connection and people come and go….sometimes it’s hard to say goodbye.

I am still amazed that anyone has read my words more than once…on purpose. Still…I think I have come a long way.

Now…onto the other things that distract me from writing…

Last night was rubber stamp club….

I thought the cards were super cute! SB and I met for dinner before we went and for me that’s a crap shoot these days. I tried to stick to a grass fed burger and the seasoning included coffee from a local coffee shop and some raspberry type sauce. The flavor was good, the burger was way overdone though and I ended up with heartburn later….not worth it. I had a gift card and that’s why I picked that place. The gift card is empty so I guess it’s mission accomplished.

I asked the neighbors last week if they ever swam at night and they shrugged and said “no, but we used to swim at night when we were little.” I was pleasantly surprised when they invited me over to swim last night after rubber stamp club. It was so quiet and relaxing, the only thing that would have made it better was if the moon was out.

I did all of my running around this morning so when the 95 degree weather hits…I will be in the pool next door. Tomorrow I only have to go to Sam’s Club, unless PT is having breakfast then I will stop there too.  I have plenty to keep me busy here…near the pool.

I was greeted Thursday night by this big boy…

This is why I always carry my camera.  He is a tiny bit blurry but I am happy with the shot. I’m still learning. Eventually I will get better….Zia

Thanks Tim! You are one of those connections I was referring to 😊 I may not read your words anymore but I get to listen to your radio show every Sunday! Congratulations on the Wednesday morning video addition!! Thanks for always reading!

  2. Aw beautiful dragonfly. I love dragonflies. I wrote a poem about them and a short story and also made dragonfly mosaics. And nice about the night swimming. I went swimming this evening in the sea with a friend. It was torrential rain. Then it lightened up. Wild swimming is very healing and invigorating. Congratulations on your 7 year blogging anniversary! 🙂

Congratulations on the seven years, Zia. That is a huge accomplishment. I too am not on WP as much as I used to be. Life has a way of happening and besides, like you I have so many other interests other then WP. Yes it is sad to see blogs go and there are times when I as well wonder how so and so is doing. Just the other day I actually went to some new blogs out of curiosity and found some really good ones. I look forward to our journey on WP for many years yet to come, if that is what shall unfold. For now, I’m glad our paths crossed. (((HUGS)))!!! 💝💝💝

Amy (((hugs right back))), I am so glad our paths crossed as well. I consider myself blessed for our connection. I hope you continue to post for many, many years…I have no desire to stop as of yet. You inspire me with every post and I love the updates on your fur babies. I hope you have a beautiful week…Zia

  4. Awesome — the Planet Uranus stays 7 years in each sign and just went into Taurus a few months ago! What a wonderful way to use that quirky and unpredictable magic that is Uranus! So happy for you and even more happy you want to continue to write — always uplifting and evolving! Hugs, N
