I can’t even believe it!!! Last week when I took the scene and summary workshop I turned in the five pages that I had ready. This was no where near the twenty pages requested. I even made the suggestion that I should be passed up for someone who was more prepared. Imagine my excitement when I found out today that I wasn’t passed up!!! Talk about motivation!!!
I have five more weekends of the faire and one weekend of down time to make something happen. The new story is working…everyday I am getting more and more done. It’s not as fast as I would like but it’s happening. It’s been a long time since it was happening for my story. I noticed on the schedule that my Otter (Staughten) has an appointment next week. I have neglected this character for longer than I would care to admit but at least I am writing and I know he will turn up sooner or later in the story.
I had a hair appointment today…I really like this new girl. I am so grateful to HY for finding her for me. It’s shorter than I am comfortable with but I get so many compliments…I just roll with it. It still cracks me up…my hair is more gray than blue (indigo) but people only see the blue. The happiest accident ever!
Before my haircut I stopped at a local uniform store. Purple yoga was the brand suggested to me and I thought why not? I didn’t use my scrub allowance last year and I haven’t used it this year either. I thought it would be easy peasy. Unfortunately…. the medium was a little snug and the large was huge. I normally wear a medium top and a small bottom. I wear one pair that I wash every day, I thought maybe it was a good idea to use a benefit offered to me. The Universe though differently. I know I don’t have much time left at this job but still…I have the benefit. I left without anything. I was there to buy not shop and since what I came for didn’t fit…it was useless.
I had my hair appointment today…I am so lucky I found this girl. I then stopped at Sam’s Club and TJ Max. I was home in plenty of time to food prep. I did buy a $15.00 Swiss Gear back pack while I was at Sam’s. The $20.00 cooler on wheels I bought last week leaked all over my stuff. I took the cooler back and grabbed a free Alcon cooler from work. I will just eat out of my trunk on the weekends. I have seen stranger things…I can carry everything I need in the back pack along with a lunch in my tiny cooler. That seems to be the best way to keep things hands free for me. I am old and therefore winded at the end of the day when I am, walking up that hill to my car. Better up the hill than down the hill where the water sits when it rains.
Hopefully I will figure out a thing or two in the next couple of weeks….Zia
