Roll With It….

Once again….nothing I planned on doing this weekend panned out.  Don’t get me wrong…it was a good weekend, just not what I planned.

The Girl’s eyebrow waxing appointment was canceled yesterday because of a death in the family. That changed things up a bit but not too much.  We drove out to the semi local apothecary for the new Samhain incense which smells amazing and was totally worth the trip! I also bought some new teas to try. Ever since I started with loose ingredients….I can’t go back to the bag teas. This wonderful woman also confirmed some of the things I have been feeling this week which made me feel instantly better.

Our next stop was Sam’s Club for the necessities. They have moved some things around in our club so we did take some time to explore some of the new isles. Since in the last week I have decided that I cannot do everything by myself, I made a choice and purchased some store bought Holiday Cards.

They are glittery, they feature Snoopy, and even come with cute little envelope seals. They aren’t churchy at all so they can be used for Yule or Christmas. The most important part here is….I don’t have to make anything.  I could even start addressing a few here and there right now if I wanted to….easy peasy!

Then we headed to the mall where I had a Victoria’s Secret coupon and decided to let the Girl use it towards a Christmas present. It took her FOREVER to find something… She went to the jackets first. She had two to choose from and decided on the one that was reversible because she would get more wear out of it. The whole PINK side was buy two and get 40% off….the Girl could NOT understand why I wasn’t leaving without her picking a second item. For $50.00 I bought her a reversible jacket and a pair of joggers….

It was almost like getting the joggers for free. Sure I don’t LOVE that she knows about something she is getting for Christmas but at least I know it’s what she wants and that it fits.  I also swung by Hot Topic where the Coraline shirt she wanted wasn’t even on display any more. I had to ask for help and was able to purchase the last one they had…thankfully it was a large.  That was a lucky buy…right place…right time! I did this while she stood in line to buy an Auntie Annie’s pretzel.

I didn’t get much else accomplished yesterday…. The Girl decided it was time for me to watch Captain Marvel followed by Endgame. The first movie was two hours and Endgame was three…. I got nothing done last night….

This morning I got up and had the purging bug….so I rolled with it…I purged so much under the bathroom sink and in the hallway linen closet. I had a great start!

We had to make a quick run to the grocery store and I wanted to stop at the costume store. I had no luck at the costume store….I am hoping to pull off a Medusa costume, inspired by my dream last weekend??? The costume store only had a “sedusa” costume which translates to trashy…no thank you. I have three days to whip up a DIY….wish me luck!  I have those 4 1/2 inch plastic snakes I bought on clearance a couple of years ago, hopefully I can pull something off with those? I also sent a call out to my peeps with young boys….hopefully I can find a few more plastic snakes for my costume.

The rest of today was full of food prep and the last of the laundry. I even had the kids go through their baby stuff. If they don’t want it than there is no reason for me to hold on to it. The Girl’s christening gown and her crocheted blanket from my aunt wasn’t in her box? Hopefully it is some other box that maybe got put with the fabric totes? Not that she cares about it…but it’s important stuff. It will be sad if it is gone forever?

I still have a mess to clean up in the kitchen which I will do while jamming to Front Range radio’s Halloween show. The Girl requested an apple pie which may or may not happen tonight…..Zia
