Seven plus years on WordPress and I have exhausted my photo library storage. Which means…if I want to post a picture, I have to delete an old one. They are all somewhat relevant ( I hope) to the post they are connected with… Now if someone stumbles upon an old post, there might be reference to a picture that isn’t there anymore. I guess it’s more important to me to show you the now than to worry about what is in the past.
Today was an exceptionally fun day! I met SB to do some small business Saturday shopping on her side of town. First stop….her new house. One of her coworkers gave her a smudging kit as a housewarming present and she asked me to do the honors. That was the second time this week I was asked to sage a place…I was happy to oblige. It’s a great house and the energy was positive so I don’t think she will have any problems. They move in next weekend.
We left her new house and went to my favorite candle shop in the next town over. After lots of sniffing we made our selections and headed out. While we were in that town we made one more stop to a cute little thrift store where I found some missing elements on some projects that I have been working on.
On the way back to her town we stopped and grabbed a bite to eat and then we did a little antiquing. I found a great deal on a bird cage without a bottom. I don’t need the bottom since it’s the perfect size to cover a plant. I know exactly where I am going to put it….I just need a new plant. The cat slowly killed the plant I used to have in that spot and I am hoping the the birdcage acts as a stylish armor and protects the plant that will live there in the future.
After SB and I parted ways, I stopped at the library to return some things and then I stopped at Michael’s. There were a few specials that were on my list and one that was a surprise to me. Christmas picks were 70% off! Score!! I came home and immediately finished three Christmas presents….
I shouldn’t say immediately….I was prepared with batteries for the projects only I bought AA and I needed AAA. I was so close to being done so I had to stop and go get batteries. Dollar General wanted an obnoxious amount of money for the amount I needed. I needed 45 for my project and I grabbed a few more that would light up some of mine. The not so helpful salesgirl rang it up and it was over $30.00! I told her “sorry…I just can’t…that blows the budget for my projects.” I got in my car and drove to Home Depot. I grabbed a 60pk of batteries….the exact amount I needed for $19.99. I thought that was still a little high but it was better than Dollar General. I did a little dance at the self check out when the 60 pack of batteries totaled $13.91 after tax…cha-ching! That fits right in to my budget!!! I didn’t even know they were on sale!
These are all made with battery operated candles that work off of a remote control and they all have one or more element that is upcycled. I’m happy with how they turned out and I hope the recipients like them as well.
I did not leave the house on Black Friday, I didn’t even shop that much online. I did buy a couple more Tuffy Steepers from The Tea Spot. The Girl wanted one and I bought one for my dad’s wife. Everything was 30% off so I was excited about that! Once you switch to loose tea…you can never go back to the bags. The Girl really likes a raspberry earl grey tea from a company called Sub Rosa, their sale starts Monday. I think this will be a gift that will surprise her.
There are two things I need to do for sure this week….bust out my sewing machine and figure out how to thread my new / used serger. There are a lot of Christmas presents tied up in that procrastination.
Thanksgiving was very nice. I spent the day with PT and her family and it was both tasty and a good time. This is the first time I was out and didn’t feel like a freak for not being able to eat normal. I ate what I could…it tasted amazing, and it never felt awkward.
For the most part it has been a really nice start to my vacation, even though technically my vacation doesn’t start until Monday…..Zia
