Eight years….who knew? That’s a long time to stick to something and yet…here I am. I’m still not bored with it and it still amazes me anytime I get a like or follow. I’m not a professional, this is something I do just for me. I haven’t even told a new person about this blog in well over five years, that was a hard lesson to learn but it’s done and over with….lesson learned.
I have been in the maker mood as of late and still haven’t satisfied that urge. I was at Joann Fabric’s looking for fabric for the chair which I did find but I haven’t had time to delete old pictures so hold tight…pictures to follow. I also found some fleece kits on clearance which will be perfect for the little ones at Christmas. I tried to follow the directions with the first one and then realized the amount of time it would take to complete. Thankfully it was for the youngest daughter of one of my cousins who will just be a year in a couple of months. I changed it up to a fringed fleece blanket but once I tied all of the strips the blanket shrunk considerably. That’s when the “I have a serger” light went off. I serged the other three blankets in less time than I messed with the first one.
I also put a copy of the genealogy map for lack of a better phrase in a frame for my brothers…will they like it? Who knows? They should have it though and the story that goes with it. I even included information about the paw paw tree….which is zone 5 hardy so if I stay here…I may just have to get one. I finished six Christmas presents and a birthday present yesterday so I can definitely say the day was productive.
It’s been super hot the last couple of weeks and I am so grateful I have great neighbors with a pool. The last couple of days have been obnoxious so the pool is a blessing. I put in for the rest of my vacations last week. I am still hoping to get to Kentucky in either October or December but who knows when I will be able to travel. I looked at that last week in October but with the blue moon and the election looming…I figured it made more sense to avoid that time. My vacation in August will just be a staycation. I am hoping to maybe get to visit with MK up North and SB on the weekends. The rest of the time I plan to chill in the neighbors pool and make things. That’s still a month away and so much can change by then but those are my plans as of right now.
All in all I think it was a productive weekend…I have miles to go but I am getting there ….Zia
