Old Times….

I started my day today at PT’s….just like old times. I was later than usual but I’m not used to having some place to go on a Sunday morning. I found myself wanting to stay home but I nipped that in the bud and I’m glad I did.

I can’t even believe that I haven’t seen PT since Thanksgiving?! I’ll be so glad when this Covid is past us all. We had a nice conversation over a cup of blooming blueberry tea.  I filled her in on my genealogy research and then we shared family stories. All family’s have their secrets which lead to interesting stories.

On my way home from PT’s there was an eagle riding the thermals above my road!! It was very exciting and I had to convince myself that sometimes it was okay to just “see” an eagle, it’s not necessary to try and capture every encounter with my camera. I circled back around…just to be sure.

I promised the Girl coffee so we made a stop at our favorite coffee house and then we made a quick trip to the grocery store. It’s been so long since I have been to the grocery store on a Sunday…I forgot how busy it can be. That was it for our outings today. It was strange to do my breakfast/lunch food prep in the afternoon…I have gotten into the habit of finishing my food prep before I leave the house on Sunday. I will take breakfast at PT’s over food prep any day! It’s just going to take a bit to get back in the swing of things.

Wednesday I stopped at the library to pick up a reserve. I had just put the car in park when I noticed a pair of red tailed hawks. I grabbed my camera and locked everything else up in my car. I noticed the other birds flying way up high but they weren’t my focus, I was out to try and get a picture of those hawks. They paid no attention to me and were very involved in their dance. Their dance was fast paced and before I knew it…they were gone. I never even got close enough to attempt a picture. I turned and started walking back to my car. It was then I heard the call and I stopped in my tracks. I had “assumed” those birds flying way up high were vultures but vultures don’t sound like that. I looked again with the zoom on my camera and was surprised to see 4 bald eagles soaring above the woods across from the library!! I did get a picture but even with my zoom, it wasn’t great. You can tell they were eagles, it just wasn’t a great picture.

Eagles and ancestry…that’s pretty much been my life as of late. That and the weather forecast for next week….every single day next week is nice enough to nap in my car!! I am so excited about this!!! There is nothing like napping in a warm car with a nice breeze, birds chirping, and the sound of water rushing down a stream….even if the stream sound is coming from under the manhole cover by my parking space. It might not sound like much, but there is nothing like a nap in the fresh air….Zia
